About the Political Science Degree Program

On Campus

In the Political Science degree program, you'll study government, public policies, and political behavior affecting human society. Courses dive deep into topics such as concerns for world peace, government policies aimed at achieving economic stability and growth, the gap between socioeconomic classes, the possibility of using law to affect change, and control over political competition.

Over the course of your study you'll develop strong citizenship skills, as well as skills in research, communication, and critical thinking, valuable preparation for participating in community organizations, electoral politics, and for seeking elective or administrative positions in government.

The Political Science department also facilitates a number of student groups and activities, such as the Locke and Key Society, the Model UN, and Pi Sigma Alpha, allowing students to go further together.

Students also experience hands-on learning through programs, research, and internships with attorneys, politicians, political consultants, and members of non-profit organizations, allowing graduates to stand out from the crowd as they enter their careers.

"体育菠菜大平台 has provided me OPPORTUNITIES I never imagined. From presenting my research at a conference to having an internship at the District Court, I’ve had real-life experiences. KLOP has shown me a variety of law careers that I can fulfill in a rural community. LSAT prep panels, speaking with current law students, and taking a trip to the UNL law school has given me connections to prepare for my next chapter in school."
